How much does a hair transplant cost in Turkey?
Most Turkish clinics that market to international patients quote a single package price, typically somewhere around $1,500–$3,500. Budget clinics advertise lower, while well-known surgeon-led clinics can quote several thousand dollars more. Prices are usually given in US dollars, euros or pounds rather than Turkish lira.
Unlike US practices, which typically charge per graft, many Turkish clinics charge the same package price for most scalp procedures, sometimes with a surcharge for very large sessions, unshaven techniques or a named senior surgeon. For how that compares with home, see hair transplant cost Turkey vs USA.
What does a typical Turkish package include?
Packages differ, so check the written inclusions line by line. This is what you'll commonly see:
| Item | Usually in the package? | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Consultation and hairline design | Yes | Is it done by the operating doctor or a coordinator? |
| Pre-op blood tests | Usually | Which tests, and what happens if a result rules you out |
| The procedure (FUE or DHI) | Yes | Graft limit, technique, and who performs each step |
| Hotel | Usually 2–4 nights | Room type, and cost of extra nights |
| Airport, hotel and clinic transfers | Usually | Whether a companion is included |
| Medications | Usually a short course | Painkillers, antibiotics, anti-swelling medication |
| First wash and check | Usually | Timing relative to your flight home |
| Aftercare kit | Usually | Shampoo, lotion, neck pillow, instructions in English |
| PRP sessions | Sometimes | Number of sessions - further sessions at home cost extra |
| Flights | Rarely | Budget separately |
| Remote follow-up | Usually, by photo | For how long, and who reviews the photos |
Are "unlimited grafts" packages real?
They're a marketing device. The number of grafts you can safely have is set by your donor area - its density, size and hair quality - not by what you've paid for. A clinic offering "unlimited" grafts still has to stop at what your scalp can provide, and one that doesn't may overharvest, leaving a thin, patchy donor zone that can't be repaired.
A flat price can also create an incentive to move quickly through a high number of grafts. The better question is: how many grafts do you recommend for me, how did you calculate it, and how much donor reserve will I have left for the future? Our guide to how many grafts you need gives typical ranges to sense-check a quote.
What will you pay on top of the package?
- Flights: round-trip from the US often runs roughly $700–$1,500 depending on season, departure city and how far ahead you book
- Extra nights and meals if you stay longer to rest before flying
- A companion: their flight, and sometimes a supplement for sharing the room
- Travel insurance that covers complications from elective surgery - read the exclusions
- Medication after the starter supply: minoxidil, and prescription finasteride if your doctor recommends it
- Local care at home: a dermatologist visit if you need an in-person check
- Time off work: usually 5–10 days including travel
How do surcharges change the price?
Several options push quotes above the basic package. Unshaven or partially shaved FUE takes longer and typically costs more. Sapphire-blade incisions and DHI implanter pens are frequently sold as upgrades - see our sapphire FUE in Turkey guide for whether that's worth paying for. Combined procedures, such as scalp plus beard, and requests for a specific senior surgeon to perform the whole operation also add to the bill. For technique-by-technique pricing, see hair transplant surgery cost in Turkey.
Do beard, eyebrow and women's procedures cost the same in Turkey?
Not always. Beard and moustache transplants are often priced similarly to a scalp package, since they can involve a comparable number of grafts, while eyebrow transplants are smaller and usually cheaper. In the US, beard work typically costs $3,000–$7,000 and eyebrows $2,000–$4,000, so the relative saving can be smaller than for a large scalp procedure.
Women's transplants are frequently done without shaving the whole head, which takes more time and often carries a surcharge. Many women with diffuse thinning are not good transplant candidates at all, so a proper diagnosis should come before any quote. A clinic that sells a package without asking about the cause of your hair loss is a red flag.
How and when do you pay?
Most clinics ask for a deposit to secure a date - often a few hundred dollars - with the balance paid on arrival or on the day of surgery, in cash or by card. Before sending a deposit:
- Get the cancellation and refund policy in writing, including what happens if blood tests rule you out
- Confirm the final price in writing, including any graft-count or technique surcharges
- Ask whether paying in cash offers a discount, and be wary of pressure to pay large sums in cash
- Pay deposits by credit card where possible, which can give some protection if the clinic doesn't deliver
How should you compare Turkish quotes?
- Send the same set of clear photos (front, top, crown, sides, donor area) to several clinics.
- Compare the graft estimates - if they differ widely, ask each clinic to explain its reasoning.
- Ask each clinic to name the doctor and describe exactly what that doctor does on the day.
- Put inclusions side by side using the table above.
- Ask for 12-month results from the named doctor, including donor-area photos.
- Compare total trip cost, not package price.
A quote that's several hundred dollars cheaper is rarely worth it if the answers to steps 3 and 5 are vague. Our provider selection guide lists further red flags.
What should you do next?
Before committing to a Turkish package, it's worth knowing exactly what the same result would cost at home, and what you'd get for the difference. Request a free quote from vetted US providers and compare it against your overseas offers.

Frequently asked
Many Turkish clinics charge a flat package of roughly $1,500–$3,500 whether you need 2,000 or 3,000 grafts. Premium surgeon-led clinics charge more. In the US, 3,000 FUE grafts typically cost $12,000 or more.
Most international-facing clinics use package pricing, though some charge per graft or add surcharges above a set number. Ask for the price in writing for your recommended graft count.
Usually, for two to four nights, along with transfers between the airport, hotel and clinic. Check the hotel standard and what extra nights or a companion will cost.
Tipping isn't required for medical care, though some patients leave a small tip for drivers or support staff. It should never be expected as part of your treatment.
Generally no. HSA and FSA funds can only be used for qualifying medical expenses, and cosmetic hair transplants typically don't qualify, wherever they're performed. Check with your plan administrator.
There's no single answer, and the cheapest clinics tend to rely most on technicians. Aim for the lowest price among clinics where a named, verifiable doctor performs the key steps - not the lowest price overall.
Many patients book one to three months ahead, which leaves time to vet clinics, arrange time off and find reasonable flights. Be wary of clinics pushing a same-week booking with a limited-time discount.
